When do the loans get sent to CARS account?

I need to buy my textbooks :(

finaid said Aug 10.

you only have to accept the loans on MyFinAid, and then complete the Promissory Note & Counseling on studentloans.gov right? Thanks

Yeah thanks

It’s kind of sketchy how close it is to the first deadline. 5 days?

the ‘deadline’ for payments on August 15th is one that can be missed with relative impunity. Many have the experience of having paid a week or so late with no consequences.

Further, since it is one department paying the other, even if they were to miss the 15th with finaid, you would just need to double check to be sure your finaid was being processed. You wouldn’t be given a black mark in your permanent record.

For those of you with a Perkins Loan, there is a different loan entrance program that needs to be completed. Just a heads up…

what’s the different loan entrance program?

Go to this site: [Student Billing Services, University of California, Berkeley](http://studentbilling.berkeley.edu/) There will be an icon on there that you can click to get to the Perkins Loan Entrance counseling. You also have to sign a different master promissory note for this loan but you can’t sign it until you receive an email telling you to do so.

question: so no one’s FA has been sent to CARS right? I can never remember when they cash the damn thing, but I always get a bit antsy coming August 15.

I just checked and my loan+pell grant have paid but not my two cal grant awards

hopefully they pay by the time it’s due
