have you signed the promissory note and done the entrance counseling/interview thing (i don't remember exactly what it's called)...you have to have all that completed for the loan in order for that loan to go through

also, you actually have until thirty days after a due date for a payment to make that payment...the financial aid office told me this, and if you'd like to confirm it i think you can find it in the FAQ section of the financial aid site

I did the promissory note my freshman year (I am a third year now). I also did the master promissory note last year. The people at the financial aid said that so long as I completed a note a prior year and the loan disbursed, I do not need to worry for 10 years.

Since I am a third year student, I believe I did the loan entrance exam before I even attended this school (I don't recall). I believe doing the loan entrance exam is on bearfacts, but I don't see anything on my bearfacts now stating I never completed this.

If you're a transfer, you might want to double-check that they have your entrance exam on record. I had to retake mine through the federal site and send my results to them.

@ethy: I got my loan sent directly to my CARS a week ago. You received Cal Grant right? I don't see Cal Grant on my CARS. How do you know which amount of money displayed on bearfact is Cal Grant? Is it included in Pell Grant or UG scholarship? I'm kinda confused because on my financial aid package, they don't mention anything regarding Cal Grant even though I have had Cal Grant for 2 years.

Only one of loans is going to be sent to CARS (it hasn't been yet, but I received an e-mail that it would be disembursed on the 17th). It's a direct, subsidized loan, but I still have a Perkins loan and one of the parent loans that need to be sent to my CARS account. I still don't get why the loan is going to be disembursed on the 17th when the payment is due on the 15th...

Well, my financial aid package was updated.

My offer letter still says I am eligible for parent loans and work study.
I think I accepted the work study (even though I don't have a job for it yet)

Now I can't find the work study in my award summary in bearfacts. The parents loans are not even there (not that I ever intended to use them).

I also lost my UG grants for the fall (~30). And my direct loans still have not been sent to my CARS.

Actually, that was my mistake...it came in the mail and it was from the financial aid office. But it only confirmed that one of my loans would be disembursed.

My financial aid package on bearfacts is updated, and I can't see the Berkeley scholarship for Spring semester anymore. Honestly, these changes are confusing, and I'm worried about my finances.
