when do they contact you after part I is submitted

about how long does it take them to e-mail you about an interview after you submit the personal data form?

took like 2 weeks for me

2 weeks wow i’d hate for them to strain themselves

Please remember that at this time of year, they are receiving thousands of personal data forms. After they receive them, they then need to match them up with the appropriate geographic region. While this is going on, the office still needs to host information sessions, organize tours, process the other mail they’re receiving (recommendations, transcripts, test results), answering phones, traveling the high schools around the country and the world. Its a very busy place. Please be patient.

I think this is also very dependent on the number of alums in the area. My son got an email already and he sent his application in only a week ago.

Putting the last two comments together a bit- the admissions office, which is ridiculously busy right now, needs to process all of the forms. They then forward the info on to a regional coordinator for you area, who then needs to assign each student to an interviewer. Finally, that interviewer will contact the student. Keeping in mind that every link in this chain is carried out be extremely busy people, I don’t think that two weeks is unreasonable at all! You’ll get your interview- don’t make this another reason to stress.

two and a half MONTHS.
sent it in july. got it last week.

Well…“tomorrow”:

They undoubtedly didn’t even start PROCESSING applications at all until recently.

To other:
My D was about 2 weeks…which I felt was crazy lightning fast!

i’m just nervous that my part I didnt go through since i accidentally put the wrong credit card expiration month in. of all the things to mess up… i emailed them but they never emailed me back, but the $65 went through, so i guess it worked. still kind of scared tho
:(

edit: and i’m pretty sure there are a lot of alums in my area it’s not like i’m in the middle of Montana or some thing I live 30 minutes from a huge city

This is how the interview process works. Once they receive your part one of your application it is sent to the chairman of your local alumni association. He or she is responsible for assigning you an alumni in your area. Usually you receive a letter with a number or email. It is up to you to call your interviewer to set up a time and date. This is why the time varies so much. The chairperson is has a job and maybe a family. Things get in the way. I was concerned that something had gone wrong, turns out the chairperson was just away on business for a few weeks. If you are an EA applicant you are assured an interview (they end up getting to almost all of the RD people as well). My interview was in late November. When I talked to the admission officer about this he said that they take interview information all the way up until the first week of December. So no worries it will come soon!

cross posted with pswib :)

its been exactly 14 days since they got my part I so i should be hearing from them soon.
