interview

hi, im applying ea, should i be worried that they haven't contacted me for an interview yet? one of my friends who is also applying early had hers today... i was just wondering how many of you guys applying early have already had/ been contacted about an interview.

thanks!

D had hers weeks ago. I think it was before her final ap was in. She was contacted the week after she submitted her prelim info.

Carpecollege- where are you from?

it depends on when you sent your Part I. You'll get an email confirmation for it and an interviewer will contact you. If it's been 3 weeks definitely call the admissions office. I got my interviewer info 3 weeks on the day I got that email.

Carpecollege-

In order for you to have an interview:
First, your Part I has to be processed (received and entered) by the school, which can take up to two weeks.
Second, you have to be assigned to a particular alum committee.
Third, that committee has to assign you to an interviewer.
Fourth, that interviewer has to contact you.

This whole process can take like a month. But it wouldn't hurt to call the school and ask, based on when you submitted your Part I, you should be concerned . Remember though, that interviews don't stop until almost the end of this month.

I thought the applicant needed to contact the interviewer ?
D is still waiting for a snail mail letter from chairman. nancy

Nancyzl, sorry. The fourth part should have read:
You should receive your interviewer's information and arrange to meet with this person.

If your daughter seems to have been waiting for a really long time (over a month since Part I), you could call Georgetown and ask when her Part I was received and processed. Given the volume of applicants and extensive network of alumni, it doesn't seem unusual that a mistake or two could occur.

momnipotent- washington state. does this have any effect on when they contact you?

it shouldn't. it has more to do with when you sent your application in. If you send your part one in early, then you will get a timely response from admissions for your interview. I sent my part I in early September and had an interview the first week in October last year. I know people who waited and ended up not interviewing, or interviewed in mid to late November.

did any of these people who ended up not interviewing get in to georgetown?

for those applying RD, is there a certain date by which the app has to be submitted in order to be considered for an interview?

The deadline is the final date. Although since the interview process is initiated once you submit Part I, you should do that as soon as possible since it isn't difficult or time-consuming.
