I got a huge scholarship today but I still need some need based aid to be able to go! when will they notify us of that?

I’m wondering the same thing. Can’t attend without need-based aid.

I think I read on their financial aid website that the need-based aid info comes out March 20th.

How much did you get? My son got 20k, and it’s still not enough… Tuition, R&B etc about 53K.

to all

the scholarship may be merit based but when you receive your FA, don’t be surprised that they integrated your merit scholarship to your FA and you do not get any need based grant and just additional loans to meet financial need

I got my financial aid package today through the mail. They give a lot of loans though, little grant and any scholarship directly cuts into aid. I’m not attending.

It seems they calculate need-based aid after giving merit-aid, which is unlike other schools I’ve seen where merit-scholarships apply after need-based aid is met.

My merit-aid almost met my EFC and loans covered the rest. I love you Case but you can do better than this.

Yep, S received his aid package today too. Can we say loans and more loans?

Urgh… I was hoping there’d be more grants than loans. So in effect… We still have a ton to pay for loans+ Efc

To all of you who are not happy with your FA package, call or e-mail the FA office once you receive an acceptance/FA offer from a competing PRIVATE college that has fewer loans and more grants. Give them details of that offer, and they may decide to boost the current offer or even match the competing offer. This only works if the school is PRIVATE and the school is considered a peer of CWRU (i.e. UAA-caliber school).

To the people who have already received their FA, did it come in the mail? Does anybody know when FA is given to people living abroad (gc holder).

Any more people seen Aid packages? FA office wanted more information which we sent a week back and still waiting to hear back with a FA package.

Don’t know when FA goes to out-of-country applicants; my son’s came snail mail.

great merit scholarship but the financial aid portion was all loans - will not be attending. too bad

The FA letter came via snail mail yesterday March 23, 2012
