When do u get your laptop??

I bought my laptop through sci some weeks ago and the apple website i will get it on or before july25. when r u guys goin to receive yours and which make did u choose??

i'm getting my mac in october so that i can get the leopard OS

I ordered mine the day after the online sci store opened. My guaranteed ship date is July 13. I hope it comes sooner. I just played with my buddies new macbook and am stoked about the macbook pro.

I get mine this thursday. cnt wait to put my paws all over it

i don't know much about computers, which laptop displayed in the letter from sci is the best one to get? and what's the leopard OS?

all macs now run on the tiger operating system. The leopard operating system is the latest system that is going to be released in october.

the best laptop will depend on the individual. pple prefer macs because of their looks, security and many specs; pcs (dell and Lenovo) because they are usually more used to windows than mac os, or for gaming since there are more games in windows thn macs. i would recommend a macbook pro but thts just my me based on what i want in a laptop. i guess you are'nt much of a gamer neither are you a PC professional; seeing you are quite new to computers getting a Mac would be adventorous and ultimately very beneficial but thts jus my personal take

I received my MacBook Pro today!

Does anyone know if we still get the free iPod nano like the apple website advertises?

<a href="http://www.princeton.edu/sci/help/faq.htm#apple_offer%5B/url%5D">http://www.princeton.edu/sci/help/faq.htm#apple_offer</a></p>

That links to the FAQ page on the SCI site, where it says, "Can I use the SCI discount with any other discount?
The prices for SCI are specifically negotiated with the vendors for Princeton students, and cannot be paired with any other offer (such as Dell coupons or the Apple Back-to-school discount)."

I was a little bummed.

I got mine too!

then wouldn't it be better for those who are on financial aid to buy direct from Apple? Cause you also get the iPod and can install the student software later when you arrive on campus. Cost doesn't matter cause there's a $2500 computer purchase loan.

My friends all have Macbook Pros. Compared to other laptops, it gets REALLY hot when it's running from the AC adapter. Just keep that in mind.

I'm not sure that all the software that comes preloaded with the laptops from SCI can be installed for free at a later time. (I know Matlab can be, but I don't know about other software). The software package that comes with the laptops is worth hundreds by itself, so that may be something to think about when considering laptop purchases.
