I’ve heard that if you got an e-mail from Silliman this past friday, it’s an early indicator that you’re in Silliman. I’m not sure if that’s true though.

Yeah, like Pianista said, our housing stuff gets mailed on June 26th. So, you should end up getting it by the 29th or so. However, some people who live close by find out sooner and tell people in their colleges where they’re in so no worries if you’re international or from the West Coast or something.

And I also heard about the Silliman e-mail thing, which is only slightly disheartening since I liked Silliman. Oh well, 11 other options, 9 of which I would LOVE to be in!

In all honesty, I really don’t mind which college I’m going to be in, particularly because I’m basing a lot of my opinion on the only two features I’m able to fully research online: location and appearance. However, there’s also the whole thing about renovations, and how all the Ezra Stiles people will have to live in Swing Space their sophomore year. (Morse is being renovated next year, and Freshmen in Morse would be living on Old Campus anyway).

you should want to be in morse if your not lucky enough to be in davenport. first of all, you get to live in durfee freshman year, which is some of the best freshmen housing. second, you’ll get to move into a really nice newly renovated college as sophomores. plus, morsels are just really awesome and i’m not even in morse lol.

Yeah, I wish I hadn’t learned so much about the colleges, so that I wouldn’t be disappointed if I get Morse or Stiles lol… Unfortunately, I’ve become obsessed with Branford (to the point where 80% of the Yale pictures on my camera from BDD are all of Branford, and that was the dining hall I ate in every time except once.) sigh

Hahahaha. I used to be dead set on Berkeley. Berkeley, Berkeley, Berkeley! It was all I spoke about. But now, I really don’t care. I wouldn’t mind to be in any of them, TBH. If I were put into Morse or Stiles, I would be bumbed out at first, I guess. But then I’d learn to live with it and find all the positives of it. The only one I know like jack about is Saybrook, and I hear a lot of people like it, so I guess I wouldn’t mind living in it.

Moral of the story: I’ll end up liking whatever RC I get placed into so it doesn’t matter too much for me!! LESS THAN 20 DAYS!!! SO EXCITED!!!

I grew really attached to the idea of Berkeley for a while, but as I learned more about Stiles and Morse, I realized they’re both pretty amazing; plus, from BDD, it seems like Stiles/Morse kids are particularly tight/spirited.

Really, the only potential downer about Morse is that it will be renovated during 2013’s sophomore year, so Morse kids will be at swing. Regardless, I’d be happy wherever; tho JE’s rooms are tiny, apparently :(

^^ Morse will be renovated next year (2009-2010), the class of 2013’s freshman year. Freshman will live in Durfee so you wouldn’t be affected at all.

A 2013 Yalie we know got one of those “you’re in Silliman” e-mails (followed by a “sorry, this was a mistake” e-mail). Does anyone have an update on whether the notification, though sent in error, is nevertheless legit?

I got the Silliman email as well; and honestly, I think it may have been legit BUT no, there’s no way to know for sure (especially after the “it was an error” email directly afterwards)…I’m just to even more curious to see if I really am in Silliman come June 26 :)
