when do we find out where we live? Our roommates???

You suck. You vile creature. Damn you! Damn you to Hell! Off to the Butler dungeon with you!

That is very very cruel. Don't worry, I would have fallen for it too.

You guys still love me, face it.

awwww that's so mean, i would have fallen for it as well, gullible's like my middle name..but not really...ha...john stewart is doing wonders for my sense of humor, obviously. but yeah, hey, soo i called housing to have them send my info to my new ct address instead of fl where it would be re routed making it take even longer...so jersey to ct, i wonder if that would be like next day or what.. adjksjlkfdjkajdkjfds...ack. i really really need to stop obsessing but it just seems so pivotall, the res coll assignment ya know? almostlike the next big thing after college admissions hrm. i cant help but wonder and hope against hope that my luck isnt that shoddy to get butler for both april hosting and ...2..years whimper. my host had that happen to her and she reassured me "it's such a rare occurrence, though, what are the chances..." and i'm looking at her, a product of this "rare" occurrence, going "yeah you arent helping me too much up in here". and i'm positively rambling now. so..i'm goign to shut up :) and go read more and hopefully go to bed soon. oh 2 questions- where is everyone on HUM sequence stuff...like did those interested already apply , just curious b/lc i'm still on the fence , i really dont feel like obliterating my grades the minute i walk in there and jumping into a hugely intensive program first semester frosh yr but at the same time the sequence mirrors as closely as possible the amazing academic program at st johns college...which from day one was always like "wow, yeah this school is perfect for me..but i dont think i could go there" . and other question, freshman seminar app , have we decided conclusively that it's not first come first serve and is anyone actually going to write flipping 4,000 word essays? (i love the irony of me complaining about a word count in light of this post...sorry guys, i'm feeling socially deprived at the moment b/c i havent been out really all week)

Actually, it's 4000 characters, which should be about 700 words.

Wow. So prettyfish is the only one who knows where she's living?

"have we decided conclusively that it's not first come first serve "

Yes. My friend Rachel called them, and they said that the professors get the essays and pick the people they want in their seminar, and they get them all at once and the professors have no way of knowing when you applied.

I already applied for freshman seminars. My essays sucked and they were more like 3,000 characters. It's ok because I really like my 3rd choice too :p

If they send it out today, you should get it on Monday in connecticut, rockettgerl.

when's the deadline for the freshman seminars? And when do we find out when our writing seminar will be? Cuz applying for the frosh depends in what semester i take the writing.

Deadline for freshman seminars is August 12th.
We're supposed to find out about writing seminar assignment "mid-july" and umm looks at calendar July 15th would be mid-july wouldn't it...damn these vague dates. But yea, you should find out about writing before freshman seminar apps are due.

I am giving up....i'll just wait for the mail or my room-mate emailing me,(i hope that happens!!!! :) )

oo "characters" gotcha, well that's not too bad then.

"Cuz applying for the frosh depends in what semester i take the writing."

If I may horn in here...Some students warn against taking both in one semester, but my d did and had an amazing experience taking two very small seminars as a frosh. Also keep in mind that although the writing seminar is a lot of work and grading is tough, the freshman seminars do not tend to fall under the "35 percent rule" (although there's individual variation). My point is, apply for the freshman seminar you want, regardless of whether it coincides with your assigned writing seminar.

If any of you guys end up in Mathey, I'm part of the college council (some elected student body thing), so I'll be there with the rest of the council to welcome frosh, help them move in, give them their orientation info, college gift, etc.

We get gifts? Oh, goody!

(I mean that in the most unsarcastic way possible.)

The wait is driving me nuts! At least I live in NJ, so I SHOULD find out tomorrow.

Are you on facebook, ilovemath?

Oh touky, Mathey doesn't need your help to already sound appealing... sigh

crosses fingers and toes

ak!! I'm with adi on this one. attempts waiting it out patiently

IM IN MATHEY YAY! hehe i found out. i'm in edwards. i think a single. :( oh well i'll live.
