washingtonian151: I'm from Oregon

Your application was given an initial review, and a final admission decision is pending

For those with the same status, how long has your status been this way?

mine has said final admission decision pending since i believe dec 9 that's when my application status was last updated

Mine has been that way since Nov. 30th

mine has said still pending prelim review since dec. 1

Mine's been 'pending' since December 7.

Thank you for applying for admission to the University of Washington!
Your application for admission as a Freshman student to the University of Washington for autumn quarter 2006 was entered in our data base on December 19, 2005.

Your application is awaiting a preliminary review, at which time we will determine whether all required documents have arrived, if these documents are current, and if all other required materials are on file.

Autumn quarter 2006 admission applications and supporting documents that are submitted by January 15th (postmark dates are honored) usually receive an initial review within six - eight weeks after the Admissions Office receives all required documents. Applications received on or just prior to the deadline will take longer to process. All applicants are notified prior to May 1. Autumn quarter 2006 begins September 27, 2006.

THAT really sucks. Does that mean that I might not get a response until May 1st? That would be cruel.

that's the same message i got, but i applied for the priority deadline... so then when do I find out????

i thought that applying through priority gave me a slight advantage in finding out...is this true then??

That's so odd. Shouldn't yours be reviewed already?? o_O

if we made the priority deadline, is it bad if it still says pending preliminary review?

Um... not sure,
but did you make sure that your SAT scores made it there? (or transcripts if you were required to do so)?

Yea the myuw page shows my scores, and a transcript isn't required for in-state, one high-school applicants. Weird.

Weird.

I hope you get a response soon, nevertheless.
Maybe you should call them around tomorrow? Its so odd that its still under preliminary review and you've had it before the priority date.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks..... are we allowed to call in and check our status?

I don't see why not.

i sent it on dec 1st and it still says awaiting preliminary review

yeah this is so wierd, because that's exactly what im getting. and i know my SAT scores arrived there along with my transcript. also, both my GPA and SAT are either average or maybe slightly above average so i dont know why it is taking them so long. could it be because i am out of state?

a month since submitting is a very short time to expect it to get reviewed

the large majority of them are probably not reviewed yet

i know they're working over break cause i called them yesterday and got forwarded around to three diff. people.. so they're working.... decision pending :(

sweeeeet.... it finally changed. Mine now says initial review done, pending final admissions decision... Wait... WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?????
