I applied to Brown, Columbia, and Georgetown-- each says that we will hear back in mid-May. Does anybody know if email decisions come out sooner, or when mid-May actually is (May 15th? or earlier). Thanks

You hear back mid-may...congrats

anyone else?

mid-may...

I'm worried about this. I defiantly want to hear back before the 20th of May as I want to still have time at school to say good bye to people if I need to. I also want to be at my current college as I make my choice so I have my options right in front of me.

21: If youre worried about that, maybe you shouldnt go to schools of that caliber...

Excuse me? I'm unhappy with academics here, but have many close friends. Transferring is an important decision, I have reservations about starting at a new place and taking a risk, especially as I know I like the environment around me now. So when I get any offers that might come my way I want to 1) weigh my options and be sure and 2) if I do decide to leave, I want to say goodbye to people.

I'm not really sure what your saying? What schools

Why don't you just rank the schools in terms of your preference now from
1....5(+).

Once you get decisions, you'll then make quick choices. (although 2+ weeks is enough time for anybody, imo)

I'm just so torn. I think I have valid concern and reason to have written the applications I did, but I do like my current school very much, it is of an excellent academic character, and the question really comes down to choosing a curriculum and education thats right for me. I dont think my current school has that but I'm reluctant to leave an environment I know I love to take a chance on another school.

I could rank them but I'd prefer not to speculate. My philosophy is to do everything I can to get the education I want while I'm here and see what happens.

I just wish we got decisions earlier so i could talk to my teachers about what they might suggest I do, so I could research and visit these schools one last time just to be sure and so if I do go, I can say a suitable goodbye.

Besides, transfer does not sound fun. Coming in late in the game, getting adapted, leaving friends at your old college, and being on constant catchup with required course work.

I totally agree with you 21 questions...the sooner we know, the better. These are big decisions and shouldn't be made under pressure or under the gun because of time constraints. Good luck anyway.

Yeah I might be going on a study abroad thing that leaves May 14! If I get accepted to the program I will end up calling Georgetown and GWU (where I applied) if I haven't received my decision yet to see if there is anything they can tell me... because I will be in Tunisia and pretty unreachable by the end of May if I end up going!
