Some classes post the texts on bspace (bspace.berkeley.edu), others you have to go the first day to find out, but they do furnish a list to the Cal bookstore (and Ned’s across Bancroft) if you want to buy ahead. There is a risk that you will buy a book that isn’t actually used, plus the bookstores recommend a bunch of unnecessary extra stuff.

about this bspace thing–i’m really confused on how we gain access to/see info regarding specific classes. do we need some kindof passccode? cause all i see is this dumb intro stuff and “my workspace”…help?

^ Bspace automatically adds tabs for each class you take every semester. If you go under Workspace > Preferences you can customize which class tabs show up at the top. If you don’t have any yet to move from your hidden sites to active sites, then your class doesn’t have a Bspace site set up yet. You shouldn’t need a passcode.

makes sense–i checked it just now and only one of my classes updated but it’s great cause now i’m doing all the published readings before the term even starts!
