When does EA get notified?

thanks @DrDre94 !

My son just received another email from Villanova concerning financial aid. There is a workshop scheduled for Jan 26, 2013. Why would they invite an applicant if he/she is not already granted admission?

That’s what I was wondering. I’m pretty sure I didn’t get in so it’s weird to get your hopes up then see that every one else got an email too.

Are the people getting this email applying for financial aid? I didn’t get the email but I’m also not applying for aid, so should I be worried?

My son also got both emails regarding financial aid. The second one was regarding a workshop in January.

I applied EA
I did not apply for financial aid
I received both emails

I applied EA and didn’t apply for financial aid and only received the first email. Can any current Villanova students or parents confirm there’s a correlation between admission and receiving the 2nd email?

I applied early action, did not apply for financial aid, and received emails about SATs on Dec 3rd and Financial Aid on December 9th but I have not received a second financial aid email like others have posted. Does this mean anything?

would the second email be “Villanova Invites you to an Inside View of Financial Assistance” ?

Maybe the financial aid email is regional? A workshop seems more connected to application for financial aid

also, the emails are not generic. they say Dear _______

I know, I just figured that goes for most colleges. Every time I get an email from a college it’s “dear my name.” I hope we ind out on the 18th

i was just saying because for the previous email someone made a point about how the wording sounded like it was generically addressed to all applicants

The first email definitely sounded generic, and it went to everybody regardless of whether or not you applied for financial aid. The second email, however, doesn’t seem like it was sent to everybody, since not everybody here got it, and it seems to be mixed between people that applied for FA and people that didn’t…I don’t know if maybe the email just got screwed up or something…

i feel like it could be a combination of people who applied for FA and people who are close to villanova? i applied for FA and i live in jersey

We got the email. Live in WI and indicated we were applying for aid.

I’m thinking it’s probably geographic. If it’s a workshop, they might have limited spots to fill and send them out to people closest first, their main targets. It also makes sense that you might not receive the email if you didn’t apply for aid. I tried looking up past threads with this info but I didn’t find too much

i don’t think it means much, might be random or something. when do you guys think we’ll find out?

Who knows. With my paranoia, I tend to read into anything :D. Word on the street is the 18th, probably by email or novanet

Well I got both emails, didn’t apply for aid, and live in California…so…
