Yes I can confirm from our experience last year. The Fedex package from Andover came last year via Fedex Priority Overnight. They usually arrive before 10:30 am.
@2schoolsonly: congrats! looks like you’ve got good news on the way

@redsoxfan18 do you work for Andover?
And like that, the dam burst…
I’m too nervous to call. I think it has to happen organically.
@grace567: Bravo! You are living up to your (screen) name! More like this, please!
Good things come to those who wait.
i’m not calling. it will get to my house before the decision goes online anyway. besides, i think i might die either way if i find out now. besides, won’t it be great to get a nice package as the way that you find out?
The element of surprise disappears when you call. I think I’m going to rough it out and wait until M10.
I’m not going to call either. I decided early on that I want to read my decisions with my family present so it will be a special moment.
Temptation to call is too much to bear, but I will try my best not to. I’m a big believer of karma so hopefully if I don’t call it will not act negatively against me. And @thelittleswimmer I am planning to read the decisions with my kiddo at once as well.
Calling Fedex at this stage of the game is like being 100 pages from the end of a good book, then calling Barnes & Noble to see if someone who works there knows how it ends.
More like, the last page of the book has been ripped out and you need to run down to the nearest B&N, but it’s 15 hours away, and driving (waiting) is too long, so calling B&N is so much easier.
I admit though, it would kinda spoil the surprise and stuff, but wouldn’t it suck if we were waiting for what turned out to be a rejection?
@Napper No I don’t, but went through the process in '11 & '12
with my son and this year with my daughter.
@redsoxfan18 sorry, it just sounded like you might based on how you phrased one of your replies. thanks to you and all the parents who’ve gone through this before and are sharing your insight, even though it doesn’t benefit you!
I don’t really think the book ending analogy is fair to the kids who are desperate and calling. Here is what happens for the next 10 hours: you get an ulcer and feel terrified, thats it. My kid isn’t waiting for a school that uses FedEx and I would like to say I would be above calling but…I am not judging
LLNYer: But I question a culture where someone is so “desperate” to find out news that they know is coming via FEDEX (which used to be the fastest way possible) and will be available online the very next day. You know, on the day the institutions have told you their news was coming.
Same here. The school I am most interested in (note: not the same school as DS!) mailed on M10.
So we won’t know until Wednesday, likely. Hard to wait!
I remember when I wnt for my ultra sound with my first. I was sure I didn’t want to know the gender, but once the tech asked if I was sure, I gave into temptation. I’m sure I would give into temptation again now if I could.
@ongoingcaralarm that’s terrible. Hoping you get an acceptance on Tuesday to put off the waiting for Wednesday. And as others have mentioned, I’m digging the username.
