I assume it’s sometime after 1st October as that is the deadline. All my required documents/letters have been received. How soon can I expect a decision? Any chance it would be before November 1?
LSA undergrad, applied on 3rd September.
They don’t release EA decisions until mid to late December. --Unless you’re talking about transfer application decisions, in that case, I don’t know, sorry. 
Right before xmas
It’s not Early Action, it’s for the Winter semester(starting Jan). It’s called spring in most places.
Winter 2016 admission is on a rolling basis and we should hear anytime after the October 1 st deadline.
Orientation for Winter transfers is sometime before Christmas break and the dates are not posted yet. So from previous years CC posts, applicants will hear up to that time.
Could I contact the admission office and ask if they could expedite my decision (I see many people receiving on October 15 in previous posts) because I have been admitted at another university and tuition deposit deadline is November 1(Michigan is top choice, the other is a close second).
You can but it won’t help. It’s mid December for EA; and many decisions are deferred at that time.
Where are you thinking you have a deposit deadline for 11/1? No commitments are due at any university until 5/1. That is the national commitment day.
Edit: Whoops - I see you are taking about Winter '16 admIssions. Yes, call UMAdmissions about dates you may expect. Past treads may give you a good idea.
I talked to them, and it should be 8 weeks more at max, but I really need the decision before 1 November :-S
I hope I do get it before that.
My guess would be Friday, December 18th considsering they usually release them on a Friday in December
^ I doubt if they will wait till 12/18 as that would be the time for EA result announcement.
