When reviewing the applicant, they wait until ALL information is available, right? I ask this because my Mid Year report won't be available until January 30th (our 1st semester final exams are on January 28-30th). Only then can my GC send it in. In other words, the deadline to submit the app is January 3rd; does this mean they begin evaluating the next day?

Another reason I ask this is because I'm currently in the process of redesigning my school's website...and on the app I put that the project will be complete sometime in "late January." Will they wait until this time to begin reviewing my application? (because my midyear report won't be available either).

By analogy, EDI applicants must apply by 11/1 but are asked to submit first quarter grades when they come in, so I don't think sending Midyear grades in later would be a problem.

In one of the VandyAdmissions blog entries it was said that on initial review applicants are put into one of three catagories: Definitely Admit, Definitely Reject and then the vast majority which require more review by the committee.

So I would think you could definitely apply by the deadline and have your Midyear grades sent later. And if you think the website you are creating would have any possible effect on the outcome of your application, you could contact your Adcom (whose name is on the Vanderbilt Admissions site) and tell him or her about it. If you didn't fall into either the definitely reject (or definitely admit!) categories, you'd have a chance to supplement your app with the site. Do you plan to major in CS or a related field?
