When/how is financial aid distributed to you?

I'm confused about this. I have a couple loans and grants. When and how are they distributed to you? Do they just send it into your bank account you provided, or do you have to do something else?

they deduct your tuition and if you have money left, it will be distributed to your bank account. do direct deposit

So when the time comes to pay tuition, they just do it automatically?

Yeah. I was wondering about that too (and right now I am taking private loans). I wonder how it works in when it comes time to pay for the tuition.

Dispersal begins tomorrow evening, and if you watch your tuition statement around 8 pm-ish you will see that they immediately withdraw tuition and the rest is set up as a direct deposit which is dependent on whether or not it was set up on time. I always get an email from Student Fiscal Services stating they have made a direct deposit into my account the evening before its in my bank.

Ah ok. So if you’re planning to use financial aid to pay for housing, would that be automatically withdrawn like your tuition is? Or is that only for on-campus people? What happens if you live off-campus?

If you live off-campus the room & board money is disbursed to you (assuming your financial aid package covers tuition AND room & board).
