When is the best time to take the SAT Subject Tests?

I’m planning on taking 2 (or maybe 3?) but I think I’m going to be taking them in my junior year. Is this too late? But the subjects I want to take my SAT Subject Tests on are going to be my AP classes in Junior year so I’m not sure if it’s a good idea or not. I appreciate the help!

The best time to take the SAT Subject Tests are right after you completed a college preparatory course in the corresponding subject.

^^ Correct. But you Waldo want to make sure you can handle taking multiple tests at once. Studying for 3 tests in one day is a lot so you might want to break tem up onto separate test days for better results or just focus on 2

I agree. I usually take one or at most two on a given test date.

The best time to take a subject test is like MrAustere said, after a course in that subject. It’s also the most common time, with most people taking the test in May or June. An extra tip: AP is not the same as the Sat Subject Tests. So while AP is extremely helpful, get a Barron’s book (or any other company of your preference) for SAT II. I know this was an issue for some people, b/c from what I’ve heard, SAT USH is more detail orientated than APUSH. Not so sure about the other exams.
