Anyone know the earliest you might hear on acceptance decisions for Early Action at JMU?

I would like to know, as well. I believe January 15 is the earliest. :

hopefulnj what part of Jersey you from??

Monmouth County, by the beach.
How about you?

wow, jersey all the way! haha burlignton county...

oh Im up in Sussex... is sooo cold right now!!!

jerseyboy, I know how you are getting home from JMU, but how about you hopefulnj, and Hawk? Just curious b/c my S wants to go here too- also from NJ.

I'm hoping there are alot of Jersey people there with cars. I'll hitch a ride, or just come home on holidays and my parents will pick up. Haven't really looked into train or anything like that yet. Do you know of any mass transit?

Yeah, the train is another crazy situation. They have a train that leaves out of Staunton. It is useless. It leaves at inconvenient times- get this, like 2x/week. I think one of the trains is on a Wednesday! There is a charter bus- look under student travel on the JMU site. It takes care of Thanksgiving, Winter break, Spring break, but not those 3 day week-ends. It seems kind of impossible if there is an emergency, or just need to get home one week-end. That Charter last year did not even drive to NJ for Thanksgiving. It drove you to Baltimore's airport. The plane fare from there to Newark was pretty expensive. This year it seemed to just drive you to NJ and dropped you off at a park and ride off the highway. Hope this helps. If anyone else knows anything more about transportation from the to NY/NJ let me know.

DO NOT TAKE THE TRAIN!!! it is a very very very very bad idea. Save your money and drive instead. Seriously, i went to visit my bf at tech this winter and the nearest stop was in staunton. It took me ten hours to get there and 14 HOURS on the way back, but then again, that was the day after we got 2 feet of snow! I'm sure we'll all be able to find people who live and nj and carpool with them home.

jerseygirl are you going to JMU? I think that my S is going to go. I think that getting home is a huge pain. Maybe when you get used to it, and it isn't that bad. You can take a bus to the Vienna Metro, take a train for a couple of stops to West Falls Church Metro stop. From there you can pick up a shuttle ride to Dulles airport for $8 (cheap fares to NJ from there).

There are tons of NOVA ( Northern Va) students at JMU. It is very easy to catch a ride to DC from the ride board. From there you will have many more options .

Pamom, Thank you.

yeah northeast mom, im def. going to jmu, but after all the long trips i've taken down to vatech, i've decided that driving is the best option, but won't be possible considering we can't have cars freshman year. so if i can't get a ride home, plane sounds good. by the way, where in jersey are you from???

I sent a PM to you
