I should have mentioned the lunch. Two years ago when D1 and I went, each table had several students and parents and usually two faculty members. Students decided where to sit based on their interests and could talk with faculty members from that department. It was a great conversation.
I also recommend that students take advantage of the offer to stay overnight with current students. D1 did that for each of her “final four” schools, and she learned a tremendous amount about the schools that way. It costs money and time to do that, but when you think about the cost of four years of college…
