usually saying that they had a 95+ weighted average?? (4.0+/4.0)

in other words, is a 4.0 a 95 and higher?

usually saying that they had a 95+ weighted average?? (4.0+/4.0)

in other words, is a 4.0 a 95 and higher?

4.0 is 90-100. over 4.0 is 100-200 or god knows what.

oohhh really so if you have a 4.2 or something what would that be? like a 92ish??!.. i know it varies from school to school though..

4.0 is 90-100>>>

Here a 4.0 is 94-100.

It usually means 95-100.

A 4.0 at my high school is 96-100.

my school 4.0 is 90-100. When people say 4.0+, it's usually referring to the weighted GPA, after APs are factored in.

100 is 4.0 here!!! 99 is 3.9 lol.... I am so lucky I have 99.65!

Yeah, a 4.0 is a 100..they just divide by 4

wow what kind of schools do you all go to.

4.0 is supposed to be an A. thats it. A-, A, and A+ all mean 4.0.

you guys have crazy grading systems. +'s and -'s are only supposed to be factored in once you get to college...i guess your schools like feeling special?

and kids have over 4.0 because honors/AP/IB courses give 5 point for an A instead of 4.

Yeah, 4.0 here is 100.

4.0 is a 95+......

4.0 95-100 A
3.9 94 A
3.8 93 A
3.7 92 A
3.6 91 A
3.5 90 A
3.4 89 B
3.3 88 B
3.2 87 B
3.1 86 B
3.0 85 B
2.9 84 B
2.8 83 B
2.7 82 B
2.6 81 B
2.5 80 B

so to answer your question, 4.0 is equal or greater than a 95

^^^ only at your weird school.

can't be worse than mine.... 99/100 is literally a 3.9 at my school.

Technically you could have an average final grade of 91% and still have a 4.0 if you got a a 91 in every class you took.

That's insane.

Almost every public school I've seen in California just goes by
A=4
B=3
C=2
D=1
So if you got a 90% (A-) in every class you'd still have a 4.0

^^^
seriously, it would be hell if one percent off meant your GPA dropped. i would have never been able to slack if it were like that. would have had to be a straight up nerd.

this is exactly right for my school.

No, over 4.0 means you got OVER NINE THOUSAAAAANNNNNDDDDD!!!!!!!!

Lol.

Seriously though, 6starsgleaming's is insane.
At my school...
A 4.0
A- 3.7
B+ 3.3
B 3.0
And so on... there's a lot of leeway for As too. Something like 92% or above is an A. It depends on the teacher =P. I've had teachers who set 80% as As because that's how hard their class is.

lol, in ca you just have the A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, so it just sucks once you get a B+++ or whatever.

most of us are accustomed to the 10 point system. at my school teachers definitely reserve the right to make it however much they want it. so for physics we use a 15 point system, history is 7, math is 12, so its interesting.
