When people which college you go to.. what do you tell them?

You just say Cornell and let them believe that you go to Cornell university or you tell them that it's different and let them know that Cornell college is far less prestige than Cornell university?

Say Cornell College...
if they don't know the difference they can just assume...

I just know know how one can spend the rest of one's life having to say something to the effect of ' the less prestigious one', or 'not the famous one', 'the small one in Iowa'.

CC seems like a real good operation with its OCAAT, good teachers, administration, and beautiful campus, but CC should consider changing the name to make the above reductions a non factor in a student's decision to enroll. I know that cc came b4 cu in ny, but about 99 pct of the time when we have told people where my d is considering, they say they know cornell - even when we say cc - and they mean the one in ny.

I would rather go to Georgetown College in Kentucky myself.

are there other colleges that have same or similar names of more famour colleges?

Just tell them "the older one".

There is a Holy Cross College near Notre Dame that is tiny (500 students) and not selective (Princeton Review Selectivity rating of 59) and the more well known one is in Massachusetts with 2800 students and Selectivity Rating of 95.
