When RD Decision will be announced

Yes i think this CC board will Explode a few days before the announcement.
I am still not sure on FA pkg time after the admission announcement :slight_smile:

What do you think the RD acceptance rate will be this year? 11-12%. Last year it was 13.7% and the year before that it was 16.5%.

<a href=“2013 College Acceptance Rates - Interactive Feature - NYTimes.com”>2013 College Acceptance Rates - Interactive Feature - NYTimes.com;

Every single year the board explodes a few weeks before April 1. I think March 7 is a good guess for when decisions will be out since it’s the last day before spring break, but that’s also a bit earlier than they usually release decisions. Admissions officers work through the break so there’s no reason why they couldn’t release it the next week. That will probably be the case, I think.

Also, it’s worth noting that no, you shouldn’t be frantically checking the pathway until decisions come out. Tens of thousands of people applied to Wash U and only a small fraction of them check CC to know Wash U always releases decisions early. So for the vast majority of applicants, they find out their decision when they get an email saying it’s been released. Just because you know decisions will be out early doesn’t mean you should stress yourself out. Just take a breath and relax; there’s nothing you can do anymore to change your decision. PLEASE just start checking the pathway ONCE per night (after 7pm CST) starting next Thursday and leave it at that.

I think 12-13%, dont know how many students applied for EA and accepted, and how many left for RD

I hope its March 7th, are the adcom still going on ?

St. Louis is suppose to get an ice and snow storm this Sunday with weather alerts asking everyone to stay off the roads through Monday. This may affect the process if the storm is even worse than expected. FYI.

WashU is ED and does not do EA but I heard they accepted 24% ED from a friend who called admissions who was accepted early. Do you believe the overall acceptance rate will be 13-14%?

Based on the last several years release of RD results, I once again predict it will be this week- just look at the last few years! and you will see that WUSTL has released RD results 3 weeks before the Ivies.

Whenever it comes out, I wish everyone luck! Anxious to hear back myself.

i called the admissions office and was given the standard “before april 1st” response

@CUPKSDAD - ha ha! Thanks for trying! Anyone else here think we parents are more impatient than thekids???

Parents are loosing sleep and kids (at least mine) dont care, he said he has more important things (like maintaining 4.0, prepare 4-5 AP Exams, doing ECs etc
) to worry about then when the results out or not,
:-S

^ yep, same here:)

^^ make that three of us. My kid tells me to “chill out. It will come out when it does”. I have school work and club activities to deal with

I am predicting Thursday, March 13th. I have a strong feeling about that date.

is this intuition? or do you actually have some confirmation?

@CUPKSDAD
It’s a combination of my intuition and my rudimentary reasoning. WashU has a reputation of being one of the first institutions to release their RD decisions. They usually release in the first or second week (probably because there is no supplement and they work super fast). Because this year was a little bit unique in there being massive delays in Common App on both fronts (applicants and institutions) and the fact that the weather has been/will be widely inconsistent, it is highly probable that they don’t finish by the end of the first week. And given the storm coming up, I say end of next week at best and Fridays just seem to be not preferred by a lot of colleges. Thursday seems like the best bet but I know I seem to be grasping at straws.

^^ your reasoning is valid due to CA delays and Bad Weather when WUSTL was closed for few days in last 2 months. But we just hope the earliest the better and with good news

^^matrix - that’s just false reasoning. Since at least 2008 & probably before, wustl has always released on a friday.

It’s certainly not impossible, but I’d nearly eat my socks if they released on the 13th.

@Johnson181
So you think it’s going to come out this week??

@Johnson181 - I wish there were a “funny” link to click on! :slight_smile:
