I’m applying to 3 different Universities for transfer for fall '15 from a Community College. I’m curious if I can apply for my Financial aid now, or do I have to wait and see if I get accepted?
I am taking a condensed winter course, and have a 3.6 but at end of Jan it may go down since Ill prob get a B in the class. I’de like to submit with my 3.6 if possible.
No, you don’t wait! Each school will have requirements for financial aid and deadlines on their websites. You can certainly file your FAFSA as soon as you have the available information.
What does your transcripts have to do with anything? You have to send whatever is required for admission when they ask for it.
No idea, was hoping to get the Cal Grant which requires a gpa minimum. Never applied for the cal grants, or during a time about to transfer so wasnt to sure. Thanks!
File the fafsa as soon as you can and list a California 4 year school first in your schools list. If you wait for acceptances you will be out of time.
For calgrant some colleges will send the gpa certification for you. If not then you have to get it done. Talk to your transfer office.
Are you saying you won’t have a qualifying gpa with this winter course? The deadline for applying for calgrant is Mar 2
California Community College (CCC) students who meet all the Cal Grant eligibility requirements, have at least a 2.4 community college GPA, and meet the awards additional requirements (listed below) are guaranteed a Cal Grant to attend a four-year college.
