<p>Junior Varsity Football in 9th grade only, Ceramics/pottery, Spanish Club, CLC, School Newspaper Editor, National Beta Club, 75 community service hours...</p>
<p>And a well-written essay about how I went to Mexico and saw a bunch of poor people and how it motivated me to do better in school to become a doctor for Doctors Without Borders and help them.</p>
<p>Your GPA and SAT score both seem a little bit low, but honors looks for complete students who have lots of extracurriculars, volunteering, and write a good essay. You will find out pretty quickly if you are in or not, but I don’t know if you have anything that stands out to the people who select. If you wrote a good essay though, you might get in. </p>
<p>My S heard back within ten days, I think … definitely less than two weeks. He was asked to apply, though … so I don’t know how it is if you ask for an application.</p>
<p>My friend requested an application – wasn’t sent one – and she got accepted. I guess they just send it to the top people first and if they don’t want to participate, there’s more room.</p>
