<p>I just wanted to post my stats and I would be thankful if you guys would tell me if it's possible that I'll get into the honors college at UCF (2011).</p>

GPA: 4.0uw/4.3w
7 or 8 AP classes</p>
<p>The problem is, I don't have much EC. I go to a small private school and we really don't have any clubs. I lack any athletic ability (haha) and I'm not interested in fine arts. By the time I graduate I should have about 150 hours of community service because I help out weekly at my church and I've done other volunteer work. Is that good enough?</p>
<p>Oh, and also do I have a chance at getting one of the pegasus scholarships?</p>

<p>No. The school profile, class rank, strength of curriculum and other academic accomplishments will all be considered. Typically, The Burnett Honors College offers admission to the top 10% of the incoming freshman class at UCF, and the applicant should show academic strengths that place him or her in that position.</p>
<p>Based on the answer provided from UCF, I think you have a good chance of getting in, as well as getting a Pegasus Scholarship. I would call Financial Aid and see what they might recommend for the Pegasus Scholarship.</p>
<p>I’m not sure about the Burnett Honors College, but your scores are high and your u/w GPA is perfect, so I would say you stand a pretty good chance. </p>
<p>As for the Pegasus Scholarships, you definitely qualify for something. I qualified for Pegasus Bronze for Fall 2010 which provides $650 a semester and I had a 27 on the ACT and a 3.7 unweighted GPA & 4.5 weighted (this is high school not UCF’s weighting system). </p>
<p>I was accepted into the Burnett Honors College this year and know quite a few people with much lower scores/GPA than you, so you should have no problem being accepted, and with a generous Pegasus Scholarship, too. The lowest I know accepted into Honors was 4.1 GPA, 1270 SAT and 31 ACT, and minimal EC and community service. You should be fine. I can’t vouch for my own acceptance–I’m a National Merit Scholar, and so I was granted automatic acceptance, despite a less-than-stellar GPA at the time of application (about a 4.0).</p>
<p>Hey guys, I hear the the application for the burnett honors college asks you of your AP courses…this is my only concern for me seeing as that I am an IB student for all of my high school career. Would that hinder my chances of getting in?</p>
<p>Martin you should be fine. I’m sure AP is listed because that’s what is widely available as not as schools have the IB program but that is pretty much equal to taking AP classes. Plenty of my Honors College peers were in the IB program.</p>
<p>You have similar stats to me, and I was accepted into Burnett. I didn’t have many ECs either. If it matters, me stats were: 1350 (2060 w/ writing) SAT, 33 ACT, 3.6 GPA unweighted (not certain of weighted – my school didn’t give out that info except on by semester basis).</p>
<p>Quick question for those in the Honors College. Do most of the kids who apply for it start in the Fall or summer? Obviously, if the applicant has the stats to get into honors then they are not looking for any admission’s boost and most of them already have fulfilled their summer requirement (with AP credits). Is it still advisable AT UCF to start in summer to acclimate OR is being in the Honors college,in that smaller environment, enough?</p>
<p>The honors application has an area to mark your AP classes AND IB.</p>
<p>GeminiRising, how much money are you getting for being a National Merit Scholar? I’m a current one and I heard you guys are getting an additional $24k.</p>
<p>You should get in without much of a problem. I got in with a 95 avg. and a 1350/1600. I had virtually next to nothing community service wise, but I did have some other good ec’s. I also applied on the day before the deadline. UCF is a great school, I start my freshman year next week and am very much looking forward to it.</p>

<p>Roughly $70,000 over 4 years (In state. Closer to $160,000 for OOS)</p>
<p>Also, Martin you shouldn’t have too much of a problem. ACT score is a little low but the average is only 31 and your ECs/GPA should make up for it.</p>
