I’m scheduling for my junior year of high school, and I’m trying to fit in psychology. I plan on majoring in it, so does it matter if I take it junior year or senior year? Thanks!
It shouldn’t really matter, I would take it whenever you’re sure you can secure a good (A or B) grade in the class! Personally, I think it would be more important to show through your ECs your passion for Psychology (joining/starting a psych club, working w/ a psych professor at local college, etc.).
Is this AP Psychology you’re considering, if you don’t mind me asking? Because you could take a regular psych class your junior year, then AP psych your senior year, that’s another option.
I also think it doesn’t really matter in terms of college admissions. Psych is a super popular major and available everywhere, so having taken it before you apply (or not) won’t really matter. It might make sense to take it earlier so you can see if you like it before declaring your major on your apps or choosing your colleges, but also this doesn’t matter a whole lot unless you change focus to something that is more competitive at certain schools (say, computer science, business, engineering).
