When should I take the ACT?

hey guys! I'm a junior in high school and my parents and i are arguing over when exactly i should take the act. I just got my score for the april test which was a 32. It's decent but i really want a 34. My mom says i should take it in june but i'm leaning towards september. So I have more time to study. Also I'm taking SAT II's the week after the ACT so I won't really have time to study for my SAT II'Also my mother thinks I will forget the material for the test but that honestly isn't possible because it's all skills based. What do you thinks? Do you know which test is easier persay? I hear the june test is harder but it's just rumors.

if you plan to do actual prep (which will almost definitely be necessary to get a 32 even higher) then do prep over the summer and take the sept test. if you are just planning to retake it cold (which i advise against) you might as well do it in june while your brains still in school mode. p.s. deadline for june registration is friday.

Can you take it on both dates?

A 32 is great! I recommend that you study this summer and retake it in September.

Why not take it in both June and September, especially if you really want that 34? You are already prepared for the exam, since you just took it in April. Do you get out of school before the test date in June? If you don’t have school hanging over your head, then you can devote a lot of time to studying for the ACT, even if it’s only a week or so. If you wait until September, then school will have already started, and you might be busy w/that as well and might not have all that much time to prepare for the September test either. I would take it in June and see how you do. If you are not satisfied w/your score, you can always sign up for the one in September, but if you do get the score you want/need in June, then you will be done w/the ACT forever and won’t have to worry about it hanging over your head all summer long.
