When should transfers move?

Hey, I am just wondering when you guys plan on moving, if you need to, before the semester starts?
I'm having trouble deciding between end of July, and end of August. What are your plans? And why?

Broad question. Really depends on housing at the school.

If you’re going for school housing (most UCs have upper div/transfer dorms/apartments) it won’t be until the school year starts… otherwise, it’s up to you. If you move early you could get a head start with summer classes. And depending on the area (definitely an issue at Berkeley) your lease might start at the beginning of summer, and subletting is difficult.

If you want to do summer courses, you could dorm, but once the school year starts you could move into the on-campus area for transfers (usually apartments). I am also wondering about this. Everyone is all worried about getting accepted, so this is not even being thought of right now. Use U-loop too to see renting options near your campus! I hear that facebook pages for schools or something have renting offers posted when people start getting prepared to find housing, and right before school start. That is a good backup if your roommate match is terrible.
