I'm anxious. I heard that they don't even look at our SAT's...they look at the rigor of our H.S. record, GPA, and our EC's. Does anyone know when we should be hearing a decision??

End of Feb. I received mine about tFeb 28ish

Is that true? Do they look at your SATs?
What do they mainly look at? I’ve probaby heard 16 different things.

They say they don’t consider SATs at all. And decision letters were mailed on Friday Feb 26. Expect a letter Monday or Tuesday.

Do they consider ACTs?

My DD received her SHC acceptance today. So they did indeed send out the mailing yesterday as scheduled.

Probably not if they don’t consider SATs. ACTs are still a test.

Congrats to your DD SCbob! I now it’s a long shot for my son - but keeping my fingers crossed.

I expect those of us OSS can’t expect anything until Monday or Tuesday. Sure would have been nice to have an email or have it online.

Congrats, to you and your DD SCBob!!

I’m praying for good news arriving in the mail tomorrow for my s.

With regard to SATs/ACTs- I too have heard that they do not take these into consideration at all.

However, I did find an interesting stat- SHC claims that their students rank 3rd behind Princeton and Harvard in SAT scores when compared to all Ivy League schools.

So that would make me think they do look at test scores ;-)

They don’t look at them. They compile this info once the acceptances are sent out and the students commit. It just happens that a lot of the students have high SAT/ACT scores. It comes with the territory of accepting high caliber students.

i just wanted to point out that SCBob posted in 2010, so the dates will probably not match up for 2011. i read on another thread that letters will be mailed this friday. fingers crossed - good luck everyone!
