Hello I am applying to Vanderbilt ED I (November 1st). I was wondering when do I send my transcript? and how long does it take for the school to receive the transcript? I am sending it via parchment so do I need to notify my counselor? In addition, when should I send AP scores?
Should I send these now, even though I have not submitted the common app yet?
-Thanks
You don’t need to have your transcript “sent”. Your counselor will upload it to the Common App, and you can then send the Common App to whatever colleges you want. AP scores are self-reported on the common app and don’t need to be sent officially.
Do I still need to officially send my AP scores in order to receive college credit for them? Also how does my counselor know to submit my transcript? Is that what the “invite counselor” part is for? How far in advance should I invite my counselor to the common app?
You don’t send your official AP scores until you have been enrolled in a particular school, then you just send them to that school. As for your counselor sending your transcript, yes, that is what happens when you “invite” the counselor, they will take over from there in terms of what they need to provide. You should invite your counselor right away. No need to wait. All that really does is let them create a login for themselves that links to your application, they will login and upload materials when the time is right. It can’t hurt to let them know separately that you are applying ED and need their materials uploaded by Nov. 1.

That is not necessarily true. The GC would upload a recommendation and school profile report to CommonApp but it may not include the full transcript of the student. You may need to check with your GC to see how is the transcript sent from your school. Some schools use online services like Naviance while others still do the old fashion way. Some schools require advance notice for transcript processing. So ask your school how far ahead of deadline you need to submit a request.
For AP score, you don’t submit them until you are matriculated. Then you send it to the registrar office of the college you are going to attend.
