when to submit application during submission period?

I'm planning to apply to some UC schools and I was wondering if there was would be any difference if i submitted my application closer to the deadline as opposed to just submitting it once the submission period starts. I'm planning to take the November SAT and the scores for that test release on Nov. 20. I want to see the scores before i send them so I was just wondering if it would hurt me to wait until those scores come out? I do have other SAT scores but they aren't great so i'm hoping this SAT will pull through for me.

If you’ve finished your application and are done editing your essays, there’s really no reason to wait. Most of the time people hold off to get more outside looks at their essays; if you were to take that route, it may be more beneficial to submit your application a few days before the deadline (just don’t wait until the last day or two). But there’s no disadvantage to wait for scores if you’re applying, and that’s definitely a reason to wait.

Edit: I just found that the UC deadlines are at the end of November and I was assuming more around January, so the first part of the post is kinda inapplicable to your situation.

I’m just worried that the UC schools might have some sort of priority listing for people that apply early so that waiting to submit when the deadline is getting closer makes it harder for you to get in =/ obviously I have no idea if this is true or not but sometimes its a good thing to have these kinds of suspicions lol

If there really is no such thing though then that makes me feel better since it’ll feel less like i’m strapped for time.

You can submit the application and then send the scores when you are ready. They won’t evaluate your app until it is complete, but they will start their process in terms of assigning you an id/password, creating your app file etc…
You don’t get bonus points for being the first applicant in the pool ;-)

alright thank you! that’s reassuring to hear
