When to take a Facebook poke seriously

When should one ever take a Facebook poke seriously? I'm not even joking here. The problem is when you get poked, you don't want to be the first to stop because it might seem rude, so believe it or not, this guy and I have been poking each other on a daily basis for about over 3 weeks now. Once, he actually didn't poke me back for a day, and I started to get worried! How pathetic, I know, especially since I dismissed it as a joke in the beginning. At first, I didn't understand his intent or how he perceived me since he would always call me "sir" (as in "how are you doing, sir..." or something like that), and that would throw off my initial impression of his approach. But now, I'm really starting to think that this is more than a joke. Once, in an attempt to halt the poking, I said something like "It takes a lot of poking for you to get tickled," but he poked back right afterwards, and the poking match went on. And THEN, just yesterday, he actually invited me to his house but on short notice (he was having a cookout), but I was at work. How would you interpret his approach? Am I wrong to think that this is an indication of romantic interest? Btw, we knew each other in HS only, and we haven't gotten the chance to talk in person ever since.

He wants to sleep with you.

Um, I don't know, but I have poke wars going on with seven people, and I know it's just a joke.

I second.

The comment. Not the sleeping with you part. Not that I dont like you, but hey.

haha I find poke wars pointless. lol
I have several going on, but its just sorta weird cuz they dont really mean much

I don't think you should take any facebook poke seriously.

I poked a guy my friend said might be interested in me. He poked back. We talked. It didn't work out. We remain Facebook friends.

I don't know what to make of it, but I know it's not like the other poking wars I've had. But still, an invite to his house after weeks of intense poking? I want to believe it's more than just a joke.

Poke him in real life.

haha...what exactly is a poke?

stupidest thread ever

Never.....

Okay, I admit it. I don't know what a poke is!

that's because you're a mom. it's this new dirty sexual trend...you parents should start a thread about how you read in the washington post that it's corrupting the next generation.

K, guys, I'll take your word for it. After all, this is the same person who dumped me last year. I'll let it go now.

I usually ignore pokes. If someone does it I may eventually poke back but even then it's infrequent. It has no point.
