I want to take both these tests, but I don’t know when.
This is what my math classes have looked/will look like:
8th grade: Algebra 1
9th grade: Geometry Honors
10th grade: Algebra 2/Trigonometry Honors
11th grade: AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics
12th grade: AP Calculus BC
Right now I’m a rising sophomore. I am decent at math.
I’d say after your Sophomore year when its all fresh in your mind.
Math 2 occasionally has problems that require basic calculus and usually has precalc topics on it. I’d recommend taking it in the middle of 11th grade, and I’d take Math 1 after sophomore year as @ErenYeager said.
Don’t take Math I, the curve is horrendous and you don’t want to take both anyways. I’d say take Math II at the end of sophomore year.
D is taking Math 2 on Saturday at end of Junior year. Her math sequence was: 9th grade: Geometry Honors, 10th grade: Algebra 2/Trig Honors, 11th grade: Pre-Calculus BC Honors. She did not take Math 1 but took Bio and Chem at the end of 9th and 10th grade respectively.
Take a look at the practice questions posted on the College Board site for each test and see how well you know the content for each test and then decide which one to take. CB publishes a book which contains two practice tests for both Math I & II.
My sophomore son took Math II last month but he is in pre-calc this year.
