I took the March SAT and I got 700R 730W 760M... I'm trying to retake it to increase math score. My mom says that June is too soon and I cannot study enough, and wants me to take it in october. She wants me to take the biology one in June, except that I got a 730 on it when I took it last june... I also got a 730 on the Math IIC last june...

What should I do?

I think your mother is clearly right about the SAT I. Take your time to prepare, and give it your best shot in October. It's very hard to study for the SAT I at the end of your junior year, when you need to focus on your schoolwork. And remember that if you are not entirely happy with your scores from the October sitting, you can retake the test in November.

As for what SAT IIs you should take and when, can you tell me what courses you're enrolled in? Are you in AP Bio or Precalculus? If so, retaking one or both those SAT IIs might be a good idea.

just keep in mind that if you want to early decision a college
you probably won't get your october scores back in time.

You may not be able to see your October scores and then decide to send them, but, if you sign up to send the scores when you register for your October test, they will be accepted at most schools.

What are your top choices for schools at the moment? Have you made a list of the exact tests you will need? For example, are two SAT IIs enough for all your schools? Do any schools require an SAT that isn't in science or math? Are you confident that your scores are high enough for your target schools?

Try to reach a compromise with your mom; she's your ally in the process, not your enemy! And she is probably better at seeing how small details add up into the big picture. Don't lose site of your goal - to have a decent (but not overwhelming) number of acceptances as of next April.

I'm in AP bio and AP Calc AB right now... I'm not sure whether to retake Bio or Math SAT...

Should I be taking it october of my junior year, then later in march and may?
