I took Pre-AP (Honors) Biology last year and am planning to take AP Biology in two years, because my district does this weird thing where the honors classes are designated prerequisites of the APs. But my question is this-- should I take the Biology SAT now, or wait till after I've completed the AP course?

I really don't think my teacher did a great job of covering the material on the test-- we spent a lot of time memorizing phylogeny, for whatever reason, and barely skimmed the basic concepts. I led the class for most of the year and barely broke 600 on a SparkNotes practice test. However, this is the same teacher who does AP Bio (no idea how her kids do on the AP test). So should I take it soon, after some self-study, or wait until I've done the AP course?

My district does the same thing. I'd say that it'd be better to take the SAT II after the AP class. You'll definitely get better preparation. In the next two years (if you have time), you could go over AP and SAT II test prep books for review.

I recommend self-studying yourself...the AP will definitely help, but I mean SAT IIs are meant to be after regular classes, I heard from somewhere. Just prep this summer=solution

If you are currently a freshman than there is no harm in waiting; just take the test at the end of Junior year. If you are a sophmore, then I suggest taking it now; taking it Senior year won't do any good.

Take the SAT II Bio during the days of the AP test. It is great stuff!!! You basically hit two birds with one stone. If you study for the AP test, you'll no doubt get 700+ on the SAT II Bio. It happened to me. Yesssss!!!

May SAT Bio would probably be your best bet (right before you take the AP Test) Most schools have a prereq of taking honors before taking AP so its not just your school, and its not really weird.

I suggest taking it in May (better) or June ... like someone said, that way you kill two birds with one stone
