Slight question: I was wondering when is the best time for interviews. For the more 'older' ppl, what month did you take your interview? I always thought it should be around Sep.-Oct., but my parents insist it should be during the summer. Help?

I say both. Not all schools have summer tours and visits. I think the best thing is to tour a few in the summer. Interview even if you are not interested so you can get some practice. Tour a variety of schools. The more you know what you dont want the easier it will be to decide what your “fit” is.

We did 2 last summer, didnt apply to either, interviewed at both. Got tons of information from both school. I think they were happy to see us and spent over 2 hours just talking about bs in general. We did our 9 schools in 5 days with 7 interviews in the late fall, November. (We re from a big city, we interviewed at home with the same person we would have seen on campus. We were on our own turf and very comfy) . If I could do it again I would early October, less crowded. I would always choose the last interview slot if possible. Typically, the interviewer is winding down, not in a rush and much more relaxed.

Just my take on our experience. Good Luck!

Do your interviews whenever it is the most convenient for you.

My son’s interviews where spread from late Sept to mid Nov. Sometimes there were two in a day, sometimes one. Based on his results, there was no “pattern.” He was admitted to both the first and last schools as well as a morning and an afternoon interview. I don’t think it really matters. As 2010 said, do it when it’s most convenient for you. That said, you’ll get a better “feel” for the school when you meet some actual students there.

I say take tours while school is in session so that you can see how the students act.

Between Sep.-Dec.

I concure with most of the other answers and I think it would be ideal to have an interview when classes are in session, so you can have a chance to see actual students. Of course, some people tour in the summer, then go back and do the interview in the fall. However, since I only applied to one school it was cheaper to do the interview and tour on the same day and it was in November. Personally, I would schedule it anytime between October and December (though it would be snowy assuming your talking about schools in the NE.).

Good Luck!

Its not necessarily snowy until atleast December. If they tour in Sep-Late Nov./Early Dec. they should be able to avoid snow. Especially this past year, there was barely any snow until about like…January. But if you’re really interested in these schools a little snow should be no problem.

I personally think that these schools look better in the snow.

Thanks…any time is pretty convenient. I’m just wondering which time is best and one that a lot of ppl go to.
