DH and his father’s were/are mixed. His father passed years ago, but even to this day DH still has a credit card (now listed as closed) on his report that was acquired before he was even born, among other items. I tried for the first 20 years we were together to correct the issues and eventually gave up. Thankful his dad had good credit.
My credit report has a myriad of incorrect info. I’ve never bothered to try to correct and froze it as don’t believe we need it going forward and the countless security breaches are tiresome and worrying.
I was able to pass my great credit scores to each kid by getting them each a CC with me. Their credit histories are nearly as old or older than they are.
