Since no one is asking when the 2015 scores will be in, I will. In the past they have come in the first few days of December. I read somewhere that they might be late this year, but the College Board timeline apparently calls for them to be at the schools in early December.
If anyone gets their score, let us know, along with any other information that might be interesting.
I am also looking for this info. It is first week of December and I am eager to know when the results will be announced. If anyone has info, please share
In the past, NMSC mails the scores to schools the first week in December. Most schools provide the results to students prior to the holidays, but some wait until after the first of the year (which is unfortunate since so many folks are anxiously waiting for results!).
Last year our school received scores on Dec. 9th and notified the students the next day. At that time there were many folks on CC already tracking the receipt of the scores by various posters across the country. Homeschool “principals” were the first to receive scores and post that so everyone else was aware of that and could figure out about when their school should be getting results, and if no word from school they could safely contact the school and gently ask.
Some schools are supportive of those types of questions (ours was)…but many reported last year that their particular schools were not so receptive to the inquiries. Just wanted to warn folks to tiptoe a little if needed at your particular school!
I found the information below on the College Board’s PSAT web site. We could be seeing scores online as early as this week.
When You’ll Get Your Scores
The College Board will email you an access code to view your online score report about two months after you take the test. Teachers and counselors will see scores about a day before you do and can give you the access code if you didn’t provide an email address when you took the test.
I remember seeing somewhere around the testing time that scores would be up online Dec. 1st. I have been checking college board ever since then. No scores yet! It might be late because of the scoring change
I’ve read that the school will get the codes on the 12th and the students on the 13th. Given it’s the 8th and no one has reported getting scores yet, I’m inclined to believe those dates. Both my sons took the PSAT as homeschoolers this year and I haven’t heard anything from CB about their scores yet.
I call the CB today and asked and they said scores will be emailed on the 14th but I think they may start a bit earlier.I also asked when homeschoolers could expect their paper score reports and was told early January the same time they are sent to schools
Today’s newsletter from S’s school said that there is a date change for the release of PSAT scores to Jan. 7. Luckily for me he isn’t the type to stress about it. I will be stressing more than him. But in reality, my stressing won’t change his score, so I will try to put it out of my mind. But darn! 3scoutsmom, if you, as a homeschooler, hear earlier as the College Board told you you should, please let us know.
ARRRGHH!! I’m on pins and needles to find out about my class of 2017 student’s scores. We’re homeschoolers, so we should get them fairly early, but waiting to Jan 7 slays me!! Argh! I sure hope that 3scoutmom was told correctly that they were mailed this week . . . Not in the mail today; I am stalking the mailman and checked the mail as soon as it hit the mailbox, lol.
Our HS college counselor told the kids again before the term ended that scores would not be released to them until January 7. That likely means the school will get them January 6, one day before the kids.
@mmom99@mtrosemom The PSAT scores aren’t going to be out until January 7. I’ve placed a link below so you can read about it, along with all of the weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth. I’m really ticked, because how well my son did or did not do is going to determine what colleges we visit. He has the grades and ACT for some great full-tuition scholarships, but NMF would give him some great full-ride offers.
In year’s past PSAT discussions have always taken place in this forum section. For some reason this year’s PSAT thread is over in the ACT and SAT prep section.
@EarlVanDorn. I did say the 7th for students. I believe the schools, which would include the homeschooler “principal”, gets the scores and the log-in one day before the students. It doesn’t matter for us about that because S’s school will be out of session and the counselor will be on break.
Yep, I just called the college board and was informed that homeschool principals are SOL, and we have to wait until the kid can access their account themselves on the 7th. Fingers and toes crossed for all the hopefuls!! They don’t appear to have any way to grant homeschool educators the online access that traditionally schooling educators have. Oh well. It’s just one more day!
@rb681000, you (your child) will need a College Board account to get the PSAT scores. If you have that already, you log in, go to the PSAT/NMSQT tab, and the score link should be there tomorrow. If you don’t have a College Board account, you will need to set one up with the same email address your child put down for the PSAT test in October.
He received an email from College Board on Dec. 17th, and signed up for an account a couple of days later using that same email. Hopefully, everything is in order for tomorrow! @mtrosemom Thanks so much!
Good Luck tomorrow, everyone! I’m on/off CC, but will try to be on tomorrow. My DS 2018 will be getting his score, but he’s only a sophomore so it doesn’t count. Next year is the score that matters to him. Nevertheless, I’m anxious about it.
