When are acceptances revoked at Johns Hopkins?
If I am a senior in high school 2nd semester and my grades go from A+ to B's, will Johns Hopkins put me on academic probation or rescind my acceptance?
To be more specific, my school gives number grades so if I had 97 and above in every class, and then I get 85 in ever class (worst scenario though I don't think it will happen in every class, but definitely one class) then what will happen?

Acceptances only get revoked in EXTREME cases such as going from As to C-s or Ds. Colleges know about senioritis and even though they try to discourage it they understand. As long as you it isn’t B-s or below you won’t get any kind of letter. Relax!

I know someone who went from straight A’s to C’s and B’s and he just got an angry letter but was still allowed to come to Hopkins.

I, myself, got B’s and A’s my last year (never received a B before) and I didn’t get any letter

Can we get a copy of this angry letter? I want to know what an angry letter from admissions looks like.

I think that you will be fine with B’s. As long as you don’t get C’s or D’s, I don’t think that Hopkins will revoke your acceptance.

If you were accepted with lower grades in a certain subject and it dropped down to a C, would that be concerning? Ex. if you had a B or B- average in economics when you were accepted then a final year grade of C or a C+?

oopp, you should be fine as long as that isn’t the case for every class.

They don’t revoke acceptances often. A lot of students have their grades drop a little at the end of senior year… they’re concerned about the sort of situation where a student stops putting in any effort and their grades seriously plummet, not one where you you didn’t study for one test as much as you should have, or where you’re having legitimate difficulty in a class. I really can’t imagine that they’d say anything about a solid B (or 85%) average.

So say my first semester was a mix of A’s and B’s, and this final semester is basically the same only I also have a C now. Is that good cause for getting my offer rescinded?

No. One C won’t kill you. Everyone has to understand revoking admissions is a rare event and used for EXTREME events. Like if you go from Straight As to straight C-s or Ds. Of course that is just because you are lazy, if you had a serious issue like was diagnosed with cancer and even though the doctors told you to wait till the end of your chemo treatment to take your exams you took them and got completely creamed they would send you a letter saying we want you to come with us for 4 years, take a break and don’t kill yourself before you even arrive in homewood.

Just to update: I didn’t get any sort of letter but my grades were still very good my last semester (thank god teachers were easy on us after AP exams). So I’m safe:) good luck to everyone
