When will I hear?

I applied really last minute and I'm out of state. Will I hear before April 1?

yeah you should

Yup, I heard my verdict yesterday (accepted). So, i guess you'd hear your decision soon.

Kcirsch, i have a question, do you know when will the Honors Programs decision be out?
Thank You

You will probably know by the end of the month.

Will I be emailed/mailed first? Or should I just keep checking my status page?

just keep checking the status page - they don't do the email thing i don't think and my acceptance letter came in the mail about a week after it was posted online

I just found out I was accepted today via the online status page. Just keep checking the online status.

I am out of state and I found out that I got in today through a letter.

danidebold: When did you apply?

I applied at the end of December, after christmas.

What will it say online when you're accepted?

This is what my page says:

My page says they're still reviewing. Is that a bad sign?

I've got that too. I applied 2/1 so maybe that's why, heh.

i applied on Nov 19th 2005 n still havent heard from them! this makes me mad!

yeah i have no idea how they are sending decisions out to non top 10% applicants. i know they send the top 10% kids their decisions first, and eventually to the rest of us. two girls from my school have heard thus far, who arent top 10% (but we are in state). i emailed an admissions officer and he said that they would post decisions the last week of this month, but some people are hearing early. one applied last minute, and has heard before me. so that eliminates the theory that they are letting people know based on the date of their initial application. one's last name starts with a D, so i thought that maybe they were doing it aplhabetically. today, however, someone with a last name of W received their decision on the status page.
im so flipping confused as to how they are deciding.
anybody want to give me some feedback on my chances?
i live in austin, have been recruited somewhat by the lacrosse coach, although it is not a varsity sport, so it doesnt really matter.
3.55 GPA
class rank: 102/503
SATs: 780 math, 650 verbal, 650 writing
EC's: three sport letterman, captain of lacrosse team, newspaper editor, Young Life, jr. achievement, TEAMS, physics club, filmmaker, bunch of other space fillers that dont really matter... my heart went into newspaper and sports. national merit commended scholar

let me know how this stacks up if yall have time.
thanks

sublimelaxer, I don't see why UT should reject you (expecially w/ a lacrosse recruitment).

All I have to say is: wow, you have nice SAT scores w/ only 102/503 rank? Must be very competative school...

By the way, I got accepted and I have very similar EC and SAT scores , but my class rank is higher. But still... I don't see any reasons that UT will not accept you...

yeah my school is the hardest public school in austin. ive taken all IB and AP classes, but with sports and stuff i didnt get to keep up as much with schoolwork as i wanted to, and i wasnt that into school freshman and sophomore year. my gpa went from like a 3.2 to a 3.55 from soph to senior year. im just getting really anxious because people are starting to hear back and i want to know, becuause im basing a lot of future plans around staying in austin.

They are sending out verdicts to ONLY top 10% for right now (I think) --- My mom called UT yesterday. So, you will have a very good chance eventually. The only thing I guess is your disadv. is the fact that your from TX.

Accepted

My major is Electrical Engineering. I really wanted to apply for ECE (electrical and computer engineering). Is it the same thing?
