When you transfer to another college, can you change your degree type if your major remains the same

Well, I'm almost certain I'm going to Baruch for at least two years of college. I'd be pursuing a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) degree in Finance. My main question is: can I transfer to another college that doesn't offer BBA, but does offer (as an example) Bachelor's of Science in Business with a concentration in Finance? Or do I absolutely have to transfer to a school that offers BBA? I have other questions as well.
-When do you start taking major-specific courses in college?
-Do these courses usually transfer to the new college?
-What are general education courses? Are they the same for all colleges?
-I am a first gen so I don't know much about college. Please help!

Business courses are tricky because some schools won’t accept them.

General Education courses are stuff like intro to psych and those classes usually transfer.

Don’t worry about the difference between a BA, BBA, BS, BSBA, or whatever the bachelor’s degree’s specific name is. What matters are the classes that you are taking, and the name of your major. Each place decides for itself whether to award a BA, BS, BBA, etc. because there aren’t standards for what to name degrees.

Look at the course plans for Baruch and the place(s) you’d like to transfer to. You will probably see some things that are the same, and some that are different. Try to take classes that are the same (as well as any that would be required for general education requirements) during the first year (or first two years if you want to transfer as a junior).
