Anyone?? All the hotels seem to cost 5 gazillion dollars or are sold out…

I'm going back the same day:(

Me and my dad are going to Penn Preview Days on the 12th, and we just booked a hotel for the nights of Apr. 11 & 12 from hotels.com. There are a lot of decently priced hotels in the suburbs, as we got one in Mount Laurel, NJ. However, if you dont have a rental car, you're prbly better off paying more for a downtown Philly hotel near Penn.

I am a minority (woah, for once being Indian actually helps), so I'm doing the multicultural scholars overnight stay preview from the 10th-12, where you are put up in dorms.

Hmm, I didn't even know I could stay overnight.

Edit: I knew the Apr 6 deadline was for something. I couldn't quite remember what.

I think I am going to being staying with a friend who's in a frat house in order to get the "true penn experience." hahahaha

im staying at the sherton (near kings court) from 14-17, the inn at penn was booked

Yea. I'm staying at the Sheraton also...from 14-16...I didn't know it was near Kings Court...YAY!

yeah its like exactly accross the street - at 36th and chessnut

are you guys going alone or with parents? I am going alone, yay

My mom will come with me, but she's like totally chill and awesome, so it's all good. I needa carry four study guides and a stack of HW with me because of the hardcore studying we're doing at my school for upcoming tests n' shtuff....eerrrgggghhhhh....

Is that "multicultural scholars overnight stay" open to anyone who is a "minority" (does persian/iranian count?)? I never got an email or any contact info for that, but I wouldn't mind staying overnight at a Penn dorm, the night of Apr. 12...

login on the decisions website, and if u look at one of the links on the right u may see one saying "Invitation to Scholars Weekend" or something like that. At least that's what I saw. I didn't get any other notification for it (i.e. email/snail mail). BTW the deadline is tomorrow to sign up (its free).

I'm not sure if its for minorities or all students, or some selection process I'm not aware of, but it seems to look like the first one.

Oh, cool. I'm staying at the Sheraton too on the 14th. My mom's coming with me but she's just gonna look around the campus and stuff by herself while I go on the tour.

silmon, what do you mean "for once" being indian helps?
you got into penn, right?

hes going to diversity days or something -gets to stay w/ someone already setup

Im going by myself too - flying by myself, staying by myself, and doing the tour by myself.

fun. :(

been indian usually doesnt help at all, cause we're vastly overrepresented, but for technical purposes we're still a "minority" lol
