My D applied to 11 schools. Oberlin is the only one that permits freshman to have cars on campus. I verified this with a call to an Oberlin administrator. What she couldn't tell me is where in the heck Freshman can park their cars.

I don't know for sure if my D will want her car on campus in 2009-2010, because she'll have enough to worry about like academics and her work-study assignment instead of worrying about car maintenance. She knows nothing about car maintenance. Zip. And I won't be nearby to do the daddy thing with her car. Although her car has never broken down, it has a lot of miles on it, so you never know. But she's considering bringing it anyway.

So, where DO freshman park?

I would probably ask your question here:
[Oberlin Questions](Oberlin Questions — LiveJournal)

Current Oberlin students answer your question, and it helps a lot.

Geez. How did you know about that Oberlin Live Journal?

That’s a pretty awesome LiveJournal.

I know the Oberlin 2013 Facebook group has a “Questions for current students” board, too…

See http://oncampus.oberlin.edu/webapps/portal/frameset.jsp?tab=community&url=/bin/common/course.pl%253Fcourse_id%253D_16915_1?& and click on parking policies for lots of info and a map. Students mostly get X permits, which allows them to hunt for spots in the lots so designated on the map. The lots with the most X spaces are near the football field at the northern end of campus, by the tennis courts and just west of the medical center.

Perfect! Thanks BassDad.
