Where did the resource for automatic full tuition/full ride scholarships go?

I remember some time last year I stumbled upon the resource and used it to find the college I currently attend now. I can’t seem to find it anymore. If it no longer exists, can you share any automatic/near automatic full tuition/ full ride scholarships you know of? Or if possible, schools where the COA isn’t more than 10,000 dollars for OOS per year. I’d really appreciate any help.

Are you talking about automatic scholarships for National Merit Finalists? There is still a link to yolasite that is sometimes used, but that is outdated.

If you are talking about living on campus with total COA (tuition, fees, room, board, books, health insurance) less than or equal to $10K I don’t know that you will find that anywhere.

There are some directional (non-flagship) state universities that are under $10K in tuition, such as Western IL University which is $296/credit hour for both in and out of state students. But one would also need to pay for room and board, books, fees etc., and if commuting, one would still have rent and other expenses such as food costs…all in costs would be over $10K.

Many community colleges will come in at under $10K in tuition.

I meant schools where COA including scholarships falls in the 10k range. Minot State University is 14,000 per year but with their automatic SAT scholarship it falls to a little above 10,000. I’m looking for schools like that.

And no, I meant automatic scholarships based on SAT scores and GP.

Look up above at the pinned threads in this forum. I can see two that might help

Which state schools do not charge an OOS rate? And will also give merit?

What is your SAT score and GPA? Posters may be able to give you some suggestions.

Would you consider an online degree, from a reputable non-profit school? Such as ASU?

Pay close attention to whether they offer aid to transfer students. Not all do.

My SAT is 1370 and GPA 4.0. I am also international, from Canada.

@Religiousdude

So…are you looking at Canadian colleges?

And why are you transferring? Is the current college too costly?

I’m looking for schools in the US as I cannot study in Canada for personal reasons. My current school is in the US, but I want to start as a freshman in another school.

If you are already enrolled as a degree candidate at a college, it’s highly unlikely that you will be able to start somewhere else as a new college student freshman.

How would you apply as a freshman if you are currently in college? You will be required to provide transcripts to all previously attended colleges.

Please do not consider fibbing about this. Tell the truth when you apply.

Contact those schools that appear affordable; the admissions officers, and ask how viable your goals are at those schools

You can’t start as a new freshman. The colleges use a clearinghouse for information on students who apply to US schools.

If you intentionally omit/delete any information from your application, they will find and and flag you, and, they let all the other schools know that you lied on your app and you wont get in ANYWHERE. They do catch you.

You can’t erase what has already been done.
Transfers get very little funding. International transfers get even less.

Generally, if you have attended a college or university after high school graduation, you are considered a transfer student (specific colleges may have limited exceptions). There is a National Student Clearinghouse that is used to verify past attendance.

some universities may consider you a freshman if you enrolled in and earned 12 credits or fewer, but I don’t know how to cross reference that with universities that offer near full rides for stats.

^^ I’ve seen some as high as 26 credits before they consider you a transfer (non-freshman). You have to check each school.

Adding…the colleges will decide if you have freshman status based on the college policy. You don’t get to make that decision. You are required to send all transcripts for all college courses you have taken, including any you may have taken in high school.

Why do you want to transfer?

Ok…so it sounds like you have a very very good financial aid package where you currently attend college. Transfer students are not usually that lucky in terms of aid…need based or merit.

The 2020-2021 financial aid forms will use income from 2018. I’m very unclear what that is for your parents. In one post you say your dad retired (when?), but in another you say his income is $30,000. Even $30,000 in income would have given you very significant need based aid at a place like Cornell…unless I’m missing something.

Check to see which colleges provide aid to transfer students. See if there are any that meet full need where you have a chance of acceptance. Apply and see.

I would suggest you not withdraw from your current college until you have an affordable option on your plate.

Why do you need to transfer?

Also, I’m a little confused…you wrote this in 2018…
