Where did you get accepted with submitting a near perfect ACT and excellent grades but no SAT ???

hi @123Monkey Chapel Hill is EA (thank goodness!) She found out in mid-January.

-35 on ACT
-4.0 UW, 4.13 W, rank 5/450
-Accepted into USC (full tuition finalist), UMiami (full ride finalist), Northeastern, CU-Boulder (full-ride finalist, outside scholarship). Still have to hear back from Yale, Princeton, Harvard, Stanford.

My son had 36 on math ACT and 34 composite. He did not submit his SAT scores, only subject scores. His GPA was not 4.0 (3.6 uw ). He did not get into MIT or Caltech. Lesson learned. GPA and class rank matter a ton!!

what was her GPA if you don’t mind sharing… And congrats on all the acceptances!!

My twins have 36 ACT (son) GPA 3.87 and 4.2 and 35 ACT (daughter) GPA 3.89 and 4.4. Didn’t submit SAT scores (2100 and 2140 respectively), no need for it. Accepted everywhere they applied except denied REA at Stanford. Offered full tuition Trustee Scholarship at USC, which they will likely accept. Still waiting for Harvard, Duke, Berekely, UCLA, Harvey Mudd and Pomona, but likely nothing will beat USC offer. Good luck yo everyone and congrats on outstanding tests scores!

My son scored 35 on the ACT, SAT scores were 800/730/720. GPA is around 3.9 UW, school doesn’t offer too many APs. ECs were good, not great. Accepted at Northwestern, wait listed at Chicago and Notre Dame. Waiting on Swarthmore, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Washington & Lee and Amherst. Rejected by MIT.

My anecdotal advice: don’t apply to a dozen schools just because you can through the CA. Cut the list down and really focus on strong, targeted essays. Writing them the day before they are due at a school like Chicago probably isn’t going to cut it.

Update on mine (I commented earlier):
-35 on ACT
-4.0 UW, 4.13 W, rank 5/450
-Accepted: Yale, Stanford, USC (presidential scholar), UMiami (full ride finalist), Northeastern, CU-Boulder (full-ride finalist, outside scholarship).
-Waitlisted: Harvard, Princeton

Got into Northwestern with 32 ACT and 4.0 GPA and a 740 on the Bio M subject test
