boysx3 –
Would you be willing to post test scores? List looks similar to one our Junior child is considering…

2boysima,

Son had 1890 SAT and 27 ACT.

He really liked all of the schools he visited, each for a different reason.
But the University of Denver knocked his socks off–he visited January of junior year and loved it but at the time was thinking he wanted a big state school (but not our state because it was less than 10 minutes from our house, and he wanted to go in an unfamiliar locale). He applied to some LACs that he really liked because he liked the idea of really small classes. Basically, he wasn’t sure what he wanted most, and kept his options open while he was figuring out what environment he wanted to be in.

He had a lot of rolling acceptances and he had applied to Denver EA–
did another quick visit, it knocked his socks off again, and he never looked back.
He loves the school and he loves the city of Denver.

BoysX3 – Thanks for the add’l info. Glad to hear your S is so satisfied with his final choice.

3.33 weighted GPA (no AP); 540 math; 560 CR; 580 writing (10 essay).

In at Hartwick with merit money.
In at Alfred (no word on merit money but seems unlikely).

Note the 3.33 is weighted, so I think he’s clearly in this thread, especially with his SAT scores

S has acceptance to Pitt (in addition to Drexel) so far. New stats: brought up ACT from 26 to 29, 3.0UW gpa and 3.3 weighted gpa.

Gweeta and Frugola–congrats!

Frugola, that’s a huge jump in the composite. Should open a few more doors. Congrats.

Addendum: Alfred also awarded merit money.

Separately, not sure I really understand how we’re supposed to post here. Seems a bit awkward to keep adding separate messages as acceptances (knock wood) come in.

From a couple of year’s ago:

gweeta - please continue to post as responses come in. You are giving hope to those of us who have not heard yet!

It was nice to see this thread and I hope to post a couple more times before 5/1/10.

My daughter’s gpa is 3.0 (unweighted), SAT scores 1690. She has decent ECs.

Accepted to: University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa), East Carolina University and Lynchburg College (VA).

Congratulations!

MaryAnn, will do.

In at Hiram.

S now accepted at Ithaca (already in at Drexel and Pitt). 3.1UW and 3.4W with a 29 ACT

Frugola, congrats.

Ithaca looked like a really nice school, although my son for some reason crossed it off his list.

Thank you. S is totally into least debt possible, so none of us are getting attached to any one school until the financial packages roll in.

Great idea to keep this going - Can I suggest that we make the posts short and succinct, but mention stats, and not do congrats on this page?

Sort of like…

Son gpa UW 2.9, W3.2, SAT 2100, two EC’s, accepted to Syracuse (NY)

Gweeta and Frugola, friends’ kids enjoy Hiram and Ithaca. Congrats!

Congratulations! This thread was getting so quiet that I was getting worried. Our 3.0-3.3 kids have a lot to offer.
