Where do BU students shop?

Im gonna be new to boston so i wanted to know what the best clothing stores in boston are. Im looking for stores that are not found in malls, so no AE, hollister, or A&F

Expensive stores? Male or female? Back Bay has all the designer stores, either on Newbury St or in Copley Place mall. Cheaper? Lots of recycled clothing stores in Allston and Cambridge. All are next to campus.

Im a female and im not looking for really expensive designer clothes cause as a college student i wont have that kind of money.

There is a Target in nearby Watertown. I go there to buy my clothing.

It’s worth it if you can tolerate the commute over there.

Inexpensive. Like H&M downtown. It’s quite easy to get the lay of the shopping land.

For used, there’s Goodwill - which has a brand new store in West Campus. Urban Renewals in Allston. Garment District in Cambridge. Lots of places.

there’s also the cambridge side and longwood gallerias. i’m confused though; you don’t want expensive stores, but you don’t want stores that are found in malls? and why are u looking for clothing stores in boston? it’s a city so they’re everywhere, but you can buy clothes at home or online too.

I think it was just a curiosity thing. It’s a lot of fun to explore the shopping areas of Boston. I highly recommend spending sunny afternoons in Back Bay, Harvard Sq., etc.

One of my favorite places in warm weather is the courtyard of the Boston Public Library - the old part. You can get coffee and they have internet and a stunning fountain called Bacchante and Infant Faun which scandalized olde Boston in days of yore. The building itself is a masterpiece and the main study hall - Bates Hall, which also has the net - is a magnificent place to work.

my personal favorite “cheap area” is downtown crossing / park street… it’s a a short distance if you hop on the T. they have a payless shoe store, marshalls, tj maxx, a newly renoved h&m, macys, wet seal, aldo, dsw, etc etc. i actually find a lot of nice steals there!
