Where do I have a shot of getting in?

Hey all... I've posted a few times before, and have just recently decided, wholeheartedly, to go through with the transfer option. My school (trinity ct) is going down the tubes. Would anyone mind checking out my stats and suggesting some schools where I would have a (relatively) decent shot?

Thanks

one professor is even urging the transfer

---I know my sats are a bit lower than average. Are there some schools I would stand a reasonable chance applying to? My plate is pretty full this semester... I'd probably get recommendations, send my scores, and send my transcripts from hs and college this fall and write the essays during winter break. Is this feasible?

Sorry about all the questions, but i much appreciate the help.

NYU perhaps? Cornell? UPenn? There's quite a few places where you would have a reasonable chance of transferring.

Why exactly are you transferring and what are you looking for that you think some other college could provide? That would help us out a lot.;)

You look like a strong applicant - apply wherever you think you'll fit. You must have a really good reason for wanting to transfer, though.

That's my issue, ColorfulPig... I'm not sure what reason I should give to transfer. It goes beyond ego and prestige (although that of course plays a part).

ScoobyGurl: There are two reasons for transfer.
-One, my school is undergoing an enormous budget crisis. We're out of money, college ranking and selectivity are dropping, and programs are getting slashed. Even the money sports teams raised on their own got confiscated by the college for red line budget items. Frankly, it worries me in terms of where this college is headed.
-Two, as I mentioned above I'm in the honors program. The kids in it for the most part label themselves "ivy league rejects". Whether or not that's the case (being at trinity suggests that it is), these thirty kids are the most intelligent, driven, and interesting kids in the school. Classes I take that aren't part of the honors program pale in comparison. Discussions aren't nearly as good, the kids seem unmotivated and apathetic, not to mention not nearly as insightful (this includes 300 level courses). As the honors program ends this year, I question how much I'll enjoy being an english major at Trinity.

Unfortunately, these don't seem like excellent reasons for transfer. I'm sure I could expound about the excellence of [another school's] english program in my essay, but i'm not sure where else to go with it all.

I like the beautiful campus at trinity, but I'm not as crazy about hartford. The preppiness factor bothers me a bit, but then again, so do uber-liberals (they're as irrational as ultra-conservatives). I basically want a school with a motivated, intelligent student body, a nice campus, and a good feel. I know that's not very directed, but that's where I'm at right now.

Sorry about the length. I appreciate any and all replies/help.

Thanks

anybody at all?
