I am filling out my Common Application as well as my UC application and all that jazz, but I have no idea where I can put the fact that I am published in a journal! Would I put it in the "Honors and Awards" section, or do I put it under my Work Experiences, due to the fact that I got published through the job I have? Please someone let me know the place it would fit because I honestly am not sure.

Also if I should include it under Work Experience, should I make a separate section just explaining my publication so that I have more room to talk about it? Or should I include it in the description of the job I have?

Thanks a bunch!
Nick

Put it on your resume/CV, for one.

You can either list it as a bullet under the subheading for that particular job, or you can list it in honors and awards. Or both, honestly.

Why would you need to explain it? You could put something like “third author on an article published in a scholarly journal.” And then list the full citation in your CV.

I would put it under additional information.

Awesome thanks a bunch!

I would list it separately from the job. The job should have it’s own description of your duties and responsibilities. The publication could go under awards and honors. You should give a full citation, what your part was in the study/paper if it has multiple authors, and state whether or not it is a peer reviewed journal.
