So its normal for a college kid to spend 3-5 hours everyday in the library? I didn’t want to be the only kid in college who did that…Does it get crowded in the library? If most undergrads do study everyday in the library, its probably always crowded…

Maybe my school has study cubicles where students can study…

^ It probably depends on the school and the type of students it attracts, as well as their course load, and then the individual student too.

Short answer: it varies.

I prefer to study a few hours in the library because I’m one of those people who detests studying and would use any excuse to get distracted. Therefore, it’s easier to isolate myself in a place where there are zero distractions (usually the library) and then, not necessarily on purpose, I end up spending a few hours there.

Last year, I came upon the best way for me to study / do homework I have ever done. In the past, I have had trouble concentrating while trying to do homework or study for an exam but last year (Freshman year for me) I realized what I need to do to get by. At the beginning of the year, I began talking to students in my classes (whom were also freshman) and became good friends with a few of them. When we would get an assignment or have an exam coming up, we would get together and rent a study room in the library. They are usually available for free at the schools library and you can rent them out privatly for groups to study or work on projects. I found that working with other people helped alot because if you are unsure of how to work something out on your homework, your classmates may know how to do that part and help you out while other times it may be the other way around and helping others also helped to keep the information stuck in my memory.
